This kids really cute and I like the video.

Friendly Correction: This song was not created by Jonathan Lewis. This song comes from Elise Witt and I learned it from her during a Alternate Roots Annual Meeting, www.alternateroots.org. I later taught it to youth in Rhode Island during a nonviolence training and Jonathan learned it there. I feel that it is important for people to know the root, history, and story behind all song. Elise Witt is a commited singer, activist, organizer and song writer who has been performing most of the time for free at freedom and justice rallies in the south for over 30 year. She sings and writes in multiple languages and holds songleading workshop around the world. For multiple years she has handled organizing the cultural components for the School of Americas Watch Protest. We are obligated to acknowledge her contributions to the world and not forget her because she is one of elders and fights along side us for freedom, justice and equality.

About

The Gathering’s Mission

The mission of The Gathering is to build an Intergenerational, movement, rooted in history, cultures and non-violent direct action to heal communities, build collective strength and generate an environment of hope and opportunity.

Civil rights and social justice organizations have come to understand that collective action on a national basis is required to stop child incarceration and challenge the immoral process which perpetuates an unjust justice system. These groups are working under extremely difficult circumstances and many of them with little or no resources. The Gathering is a national movement that creates a coordinated space to 1) fortify relationships between regional groups, 2) support local endeavors and 3) enhance the ongoing organizing of non-violent direct action training. Central to its mission is strengthening our moral environment.
