The United Nations Must put an end to violence, that should be their only mission
As a former stockbroker and business onwer I look for Return On Investment. How much money has The United Nations swallowed since its' inception? The return is supposed to be peace on earth. Are we really getting our money's worth, well you answer that one. And while you're at it, ask do we need a basic all countries adopt a definition of Leadership and Human Rights? Yes, in order to remain a member in good standing the member MUST agree to certain basic rights of all people. And when the current leadership can no longer act as a leader, it will be replaced as agreed to by UN Resolutions.
No country shall form a law which is contrary to The Laws adopted by The UN Resolutions regarding basic Human Rights for ALL people..... These laws would include some of the following and much more: I have the right to be a free human being. I am not a slave, or anyone's animal, I am my own person, with my own feelings. I am entitled to vote, right to education, access to good health, free from religious persecution.
When a government uses force to enslave their people for the benefit of the leadership, that leadership is in violation of the resolution and the world stands together to stop it.
Why is it OK for a country's leadership to brutalize their citizens, just because the leadership has the guns, the military and the law on their side. It is not OK for a leadership to continue to enforce old laws that are inconflict with the basic Human Rights Law. It will not be allowed to throw rocks and stones at a woman who broke church or church sponsered state law. An eye for an eye is no longer the law in any country on earth. Cutting off an 8 year old's arm who stole a piece of bread will NEVER be tolerated again. In America we set women on fire because they were supposed to be witches, we don't do that anymore, but we did.... It's like that we used to do something evil and now we don't.
No one can say that God ordered them to do anything.... If Abraham were to try to kill his son today, because he said God told him to, he would be committed. And you would agree. Take that eye for an eye stuff and denounce the practice as you would denounce cutting off an 8 year olds' arm for stealing bread; even if that is what the law says. That law will be in conflict with The Basic Human Rights Law and is strickened from the books and screw tradition. Lets get a UN accounting and check the results.

The mission of The Gathering is to build an Intergenerational, movement, rooted in history, cultures and non-violent direct action to heal communities, build collective strength and generate an environment of hope and opportunity.
Civil rights and social justice organizations have come to understand that collective action on a national basis is required to stop child incarceration and challenge the immoral process which perpetuates an unjust justice system. These groups are working under extremely difficult circumstances and many of them with little or no resources. The Gathering is a national movement that creates a coordinated space to 1) fortify relationships between regional groups, 2) support local endeavors and 3) enhance the ongoing organizing of non-violent direct action training. Central to its mission is strengthening our moral environment.
