When Paul Speaks
kinda hurt in tha heart
cuz i get to close from the start
blowing things outa proportion
like makin an arrow out of a dart

i wanna say for once in my life
i aint get what i want
but that cant be the truth
because if it was then i would be caught
caught in the mouth i mean
unable to speak
my world would flip upsidedown
head bein down to my feet

but thats not the case
bcuz disappointment is the usual
then again i got it good
bcuz its been a few years since i seen a funeral

but back to the heart soul and pain
in my mind theres a earthquake then a hurricane
im feelin real empty but i wonder why
after discoverin my emotions i never felt the same

so now here i am writin this rhyme
sharin a story of pain and truth thats not only mine
better to speak now before i run out of time
mabey by then ill drop the nikel and find a dim

When Naeemah Speaks...
I have come here to be born
To experience the transition that many have gone through before me
To find my political position in life
To discover my passion and forget the influence of my possessions
To feel free and refreshed
Open minded and excepting
Trustworthy and honest
I came here to learn hot to embrace a conflict and to allow the change
I came here to become apart of a community
A community that will strengthen me and push me to fight
I came to learn how to fight with my knowledge than with my words and body as a
weapon
I have come to be born and transition
I have come to transition into my own form of a Revolutionist

About

The Gathering’s Mission

The mission of The Gathering is to build an Intergenerational, movement, rooted in history, cultures and non-violent direct action to heal communities, build collective strength and generate an environment of hope and opportunity.

Civil rights and social justice organizations have come to understand that collective action on a national basis is required to stop child incarceration and challenge the immoral process which perpetuates an unjust justice system. These groups are working under extremely difficult circumstances and many of them with little or no resources. The Gathering is a national movement that creates a coordinated space to 1) fortify relationships between regional groups, 2) support local endeavors and 3) enhance the ongoing organizing of non-violent direct action training. Central to its mission is strengthening our moral environment.
