Aloha Melvin, I'm not sure you remember me, but my girlfirend Rhonda and I met you at Huggos back in January 2008. I move to this beautiful island soon after in July, and Rhonda will be here in June this year. I spotted your picture as one of the Kahuna on the Makana aloha page. If you ever have time for a chat, I'd really like to hear more about some of the things we talked about. I remember our conversation vividly, and remember that your father was of Scottish background and your mother was a decendent of Queen Lilioukalni, and that your mother was fighting for land rights of native Hawaiians (I hope I got all that right). Please shoot me an email if you get a chance, or call if you still have our phone numbers. email: mike@sdwaterman.com.

Aloha,
Mike

Hi there hope all is well with you. We had the California bike riders finish up their ride here in Santa Cruz. Lance Armstrong and a few other familiar names did the entire trek and part of it was in pouring down rain!
I like that (the constitutional law for Hawaii : )
"constitutional Law of 1840 of the kingdom of Hawai'I.
It starts: God hath made all men of all nations one Blood to dwell on this earth in Blessedness and Rightiousness. The time has changed it is a new paradigm. It is in the now. The Truth shall set us all Free."

About

The Gathering’s Mission

The mission of The Gathering is to build an Intergenerational, movement, rooted in history, cultures and non-violent direct action to heal communities, build collective strength and generate an environment of hope and opportunity.

Civil rights and social justice organizations have come to understand that collective action on a national basis is required to stop child incarceration and challenge the immoral process which perpetuates an unjust justice system. These groups are working under extremely difficult circumstances and many of them with little or no resources. The Gathering is a national movement that creates a coordinated space to 1) fortify relationships between regional groups, 2) support local endeavors and 3) enhance the ongoing organizing of non-violent direct action training. Central to its mission is strengthening our moral environment.
