It is time for collective action. If we continue to claim territory verses acknowledging our responsibility we will remain in a state of mental poverty. Lets come together so that we may meet the demand for training.
This group will be used to communicate beyond the Nonviolence Legacy Project Kingian training. We must build working relationships if we are to create a real coalition.

Mock Graduation Staged for the Plight of the Undocumented Who Dare to DREAM
There were mock graduation ceremonies all over the country today. Many participated to heighten awareness for the millions of undocumented students who are unable to enroll in higher education in the United States due to lack of funds made available because of their status. Police Brutality
April 9, 2009.
On 17th and Grand in Santa Ana, Ca a police officer pointed a gun and then hand cuffed two young boys, who appeared to be around the middle school age. As a legal observer, I decided to video tape the incident. Quickly after I took out my phone to do so, a police officer asked me to "move" and as I explained to him that it is my legal right to observe within reasonable distance (I was well beyond 50 feet, the distance required in Ca) he began to yell at me. The Gathering’s Mission
The mission of The Gathering is to build an Intergenerational, movement, rooted in history, cultures and non-violent direct action to heal communities, build collective strength and generate an environment of hope and opportunity.
Civil rights and social justice organizations have come to understand that collective action on a national basis is required to stop child incarceration and challenge the immoral process which perpetuates an unjust justice system. These groups are working under extremely difficult circumstances and many of them with little or no resources. The Gathering is a national movement that creates a coordinated space to 1) fortify relationships between regional groups, 2) support local endeavors and 3) enhance the ongoing organizing of non-violent direct action training. Central to its mission is strengthening our moral environment.
